Nanmangalam Lake – Chennai

The Nanmangalam Lake in South Chennai is a pristine habitat with its sources from the upstream tropical evergreen forest. The lake is today being abused with non-degradable trash. A citizen movement over the last 4 years is focussing on cleaning up and reviving this water body.

Environmentalist Foundation of India (E.F.I) has been volunteering towards reviving freshwater bodies across the country. The Nanmangalam lake cleaning and revival is an ambitious effort aimed at a sustainable future. Volunteer for India & her Environment with E.F.I. Jai Hind
